International Sheet Metal Show in Southern China
Metal + Tech 2018 in Foshan: New specialist trade fair for the metalworking and sheet metal working industry in southern China

– Gateway to one of China’s fastest-growing economic regions

Foshan/Hannover. As part of its Chinese expansion strategy, Deutsche Messe is launching a new international trade fair for the metalworking and sheet metal working industry in southern China. Under the name of Metal + Tech, the show will premier from 27 to 30 November 2018 at the Guangdong (Tanzhou) International Convention and Exhibition Center in the city of Foshan. Foshan, which is located on the western side of the Pearl River Delta, is one of China’s most important automotive, mechanical engineering and metalworking centers. Metal + Tech will serve as a gateway to what is one of the world’s most important markets for metalworking technologies and is targeted at providers from around the globe. The new show will be staged annually by Deutsche Messe (based in Hannover, Germany) and its Chinese subsidiary, Milano Fairs Shanghai.

“Metal + Tech will help our exhibitors gain access to one of China’s fastest-growing economic regions,” said Andreas Luttmann, Global Director Metal Processing at Deutsche Messe. “We’ve already received a great deal of positive feedback from the industry and we’re confident that Metal + Tech will become one of southern China’s leading metalworking technology platforms.” The show will feature all the latest metalworking and sheet metal working solutions, from machine tools, sheet metal working and sheet metal production plant to tools.

Companies exhibiting at Metal + Tech will find plenty of opportunities to make new contacts, develop their Chinese business and network with Chinese customers and business partners. Foshan, which has a population of 7.5 million and is home to some 130,000 companies, is a vibrant and dynamic economic center. This makes the city the ideal location for foreign direct investment. International companies who already have operations in Foshan include VW, Siemens, Osram, Messer, BASF and MAERSK. Guangdong Province, where Foshan is located, is considered China’s economic powerhouse. With a permanent population of 86.42 million, Guangdong is one of most populous provinces in China.

Many companies have already registered for the premiere of Metal + Tech. Among them are Accurpress, Arno, Bodor Laser, Chonglee, DeraTech, DNE (Member of Bystronic), Dongduan, Fujimec, Guangzhou Shipyard, Han’s Laser, Han’s MP Laser, Huineng Laser, Hymson Laser, Ketec, Lek, Lenxon, Penta Laser, Ragos, Wila, Rate, Yawei, Shinetek, Smart Prima, Tailift and Tiloo. The premier is expected to occupy over 320,000 square feet (30,000 m2) of exhibition space and attract more than 40,000 trade visitors from the metalworking sector and related industries.
